Located on the fictional Plateau of Gorgoroth on J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle Earth, Mount Doom is an infamous volcanic seat of evil in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and the New Line Cinema films adapted from it. The language of the immortal Elves renders its name in literal fashion as “fate mountain” or Amon Amarth, or by description as “fire mountain” or Orodruin, with both nicknames capturing a part of the truth: for it was in the fiery interior of this vast volcano that the One Ring of Power was forged and where the fate of the world was ultimately decided. The New Zealand Mint commemorates this fantasy landmark with the 2022 1 oz Silver Niue Lord of the Rings Mount Doom Coin.

Coin Highlights:

  • Ships in a custom display case, along with a Certificate of Authenticity!
  • Issued in 2022, part of the N.Z. Mint’s Lord of the Rings collection!
  • Limited mintage of 3,000 coins!
  • Consists of One Troy ounce of .999 fine silver.
  • Face value of $2 (NZD), legal tender of Niue.
  • Obverse side features the late Queen Elizabeth II.
  • Reverse side features an engraving of Mount Doom.

Featuring detailed engravings accentuated by a gorgeous matte antiqued finish, the 2022 Silver Niue Lord of the Rings Mount Doom Coin is sure to be prized by fans, collectors, and investors alike. It ships in a themed display case in a protective acrylic capsule, along with a Certificate on Authenticity that confirms its unique number in an exclusive limited mintage.

Mount Doom is the key to the great evils faced by the heroes of Middle Earth. The setting’s first and most powerful Dark Lord, Melkor, created the dread volcano during the dawn of the world, and his successor Sauron used it as a base of operations through two subsequent Ages. Peter Jackson brought it vividly to life in the Lord of the Rings adaptation for the big screen, and the New Zealand Mint has created this beautiful tribute to it in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products as part of a bullion range specifically devoted to the franchise.

This coin’s reverse side features the sinister, smoking profile of Mount Doom in a realistic engraving. The copyright and trademark of New Line Productions appear in small inscriptions at the rim, along with verification of the coin’s weight and the purity of its silver content.

The late monarch Queen Elizabeth II dominates the obverse side in a classic Ian Rank-Broadley effigy that confirms the coin as legal tender. She’s accompanied by the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II,” “NIUE,” “TWO DOLLARS” and “2022.”

We also never have access to your credit/debit card details, as they are securely communicated directly to the payment processor (Authorize.net) and never retained by Silver.com. For this reason, we also don't process credit/debit card orders over the phone, as it is the least secure way to process those transactions.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
