Produced by the Intaglio Mint, the Molon Labe Series is a former silver round collection that has made a unique move. After releasing several designs inspired by the Battle of Thermopylae, Intaglio Mint is bringing its Molon Labe Series from the realm of silver rounds to the land of 1 oz silver coins with legal tender status. Today, 2022 1 oz Silver Niue Molon Labe Type II coins are available to you online at Silver.com.

The 2022 Molon Labe Series brings Intaglio Mint’s previously used images from the Molon Labe silver round series to life on a series of legal tender silver bullion coins. The series is authorized by Niue as legal tender and includes limited mintages and individual or bulk packaging options for the coins.

All of these 2022 1 oz Silver Niue Molon Labe Coins are available with plastic flips when purchased individually. Multiples of 20 are packaged together in protective tubes, while multiples of 500 are housed together in a box containing 25 separate tubes. All of the coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.

On the obverse of 2022 Silver Molon Labe Coins is a bust of Queen Elizabeth II. In this design, Her Majesty is featured in right-profile relief in the 1998 portrait from Ian Rank-Broadley. This portrait includes the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara with a ring of Spartan shields and spears around the portrait.

The reverse side of the 2022 1 oz Silver Molon Labe Coin features a depiction of a Spartan warrior. In the foreground, the shoulders and head of the warrior are set in right-profile relief with the soldier wearing his full military armor. The background offers a battle motif design element.
