Each 2022 150 Gram Proof Gold Chinese Panda you purchase in this listing comes with individual packaging from the Chinese Mint. The coins are protected in capsules and housed in individual commemorative boxes and come with an included Certificate of Authenticity. As proof specimens, these coins feature traditional visuals such as frosted design elements and mirrored fields. The coins in the 40th-anniversary release, both BU and proof, come with a special privy mark. Featured on the obverse of Gold Pandas, this privy shows the digits 40 with a panda included within the zero.

The 150 Gram Proof Gold Panda is one of three larger coins in the series that are only available in proof. While the BU Gold Panda offers 30 Gram, 15 Gram, 8 Gram, 3 Gram, and 1 Gram coins, the proof series comes with 150 Gram, 100 Gram, and 50 Gram options.

The obverse of 2022 Proof Gold Chinese Pandas features an image of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. This depiction of the exterior facade of the building remains unchanged since 1982. It has featured on the obverse of the Gold Pandas every year since the program’s debut and also features on the reverse side of the Silver Pandas.

On the reverse of the 2022 150 Gram Proof Gold Panda is a depiction of two Giant Pandas. A unique species of bear that is native to the central highlands of China, the panda is recognizable with its black-and-white fur. In this year’s design, two pandas are shown enjoying a playful day in the snow. The duo slides down a snowy hill, with one going down head first and the other going down feet first.
