Of special note on the coins is the image of the fleece, which is gilded. The beauty of this coin makes it the perfect gift option for any lover of Greek Mythology.

In this classic mythical tale, Jason is born to a king but is raised by a Centaur named Chiron. The rightful heir to the throne, Jason eventually returns home only to find that it has been usurped by the cunning King Pelias. Pelias orders Jason to capture the golden fleece, a seemingly impossible task. Jason, undaunted, sets sail on the Argo with an army of men. Together, they overcome a series of tasks that ultimately lead them to the golden fleece, which is guarded by a fearsome dragon.

The obverse side of 2022 Jason and the Argonauts Coins features Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. This iconic design was created by Ian Rank-Broadley in 1998. The queen is depicted in profile wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. Twisting vines wrap around the perimeter of the image. Inscriptions of the coin’s hallmarks are found along the edges.

On the reverse face of the 2022 Silver Niue Jason and the Argonauts Coin, we see the golden fleece hanging from a tree. It is fully gilded, making it stand out in the image. Below the tree is Jason fighting the dragon. While the dragon looks menacing, Jason appears up for the challenge with his helmet, large shield, and spear. Behind him, we see the boat that Jason took to Colchis, a place beyond the known world that is home to the fleece.
