There is no mythic animal in Chinese culture more pervasive and recognizable than the dragon. Responsible for the weather and for bodies of water, identified with wisdom and immortality and eventually with the authority of Emperors, the dragon has been important to China throughout history and deep into prehistory. Often, dragons were depicted with flaming pearls that represented their sagacity and might, as seen on the 2022 2 oz Silver Antique Niue Pearl and Dragon Coin on offer from Silver.com.

The 2022 Antique Silver Niue Pearl and Dragon Coin brings out its vivid engravings with the beautiful antique finish, selective gilding, and a pearl inset. Supplies will be limited to just 500 coins in the mintage, so we recommend ordering as early as you can.

Far from being the fire-breathing monsters depicted in Western culture, the dragon of China was associated with storms, seas, and water in all its forms. A fantastical blend of the anatomies of many different creatures including the stag, the carp, the snake and the eagle, the Chinese dragon eventually grew to be identified with the very wisdom that humanity needed to cope with the capricious nature of water and weather, and it was common for dragons to be given sacrifices when a village needed either more or less rain. So important were dragons to the life of the community that they eventually were identified with the wellspring of order, the Emperor himself.

A Chinese dragon in a dramatic traditional pose appears on the coin’s reverse side. It has a flaming inset pearl of wisdom — a pearl inset surrounding by selective gilding — issuing from its mouth, and is joined by the inscription “Pearl and Dragon.”

The coin’s obverse side features a legal tender effigy of Queen Elizabeth II surrounded by a broad border of dragon scales. Inscriptions around the rim read “Elizabeth II,” “Niue” and “Five Dollars” above, and “2002,” “2 oz” and “999 Ag” below.

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
