One of the world’s most popular gold bullion coin collections celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2022. Introduced in 1982, the Gold Pandas from the Chinese Mint are among the most coveted coins with each annual release. The collection was the first major series in the world to use new designs on one side of the coin each year. Now, 2022 30 Gram Gold Chinese Pandas are available to you for purchase online at Silver.com.

Coin Highlights:

  • Coins ship to you inside individual plastic pouches or rolls of 10 coins!
  • 40th-anniversary in the Gold Chinese Panda Series!
  • Consists of 30 Grams, or .9645 Troy ounce, of .999 fine gold in BU condition.
  • Issued a face value of 500 Yuan by the People’s Republic of China.
  • The obverse side depicts the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests.
  • On the reverse is an image of two Giant Pandas.
  • Special 40th-anniversary mark on the reverse side.

The Chinese Mint introduced the Gold Chinese Pandas in 1982. The coin program started out with 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz gold coins in 1982, with a 1/20 oz gold coin quickly added in 1983. From 1982 to 2000, the coins were issued with lower denominations than currently used today. Starting in 2001, the Chinese Mint increased the face value of each coin to the levels used today.

Additionally, in 2016 the Chinese Mint abandoned the use of Troy ounces in this series. The 1 oz silver and gold coins became 30 Gram coins. The fractional-ounce gold coins were transformed into 15 Gram, 8 Gram, 3 Gram, and 1 Gram coins. As the series reaches its 40th anniversary this year, it is more popular than ever.

The obverse of 2022 30 Gram Gold Chinese Pandas features an image of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. Part of the Temple of Heaven complex, the Hall is a Taoist site that emperors once visited on a regular basis to pray for bountiful harvests for the kingdom to feed the people and sustain the empire.

On the reverse side of 2022 30 Gram Gold Pandas is a depiction of two Giant Pandas. These lovable bears are sliding down a snowy hill in this design, with one going head first on its stomach and the other feet first on its back. The design field includes a 40th-anniversary mark that includes a panda head coming through the 0 in the 40 digits.

These 2022 30 Gram Gold Chinese Pandas are available to you individually inside plastic pouches or by multiples of 10 coins in rolls. All of the coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition from the mint.
