The British Gold Sovereign coin has a fascinating history that began in 1817. First minted under King George III, these coins were initially used in everyday transactions and later revived in the 20th century as modern bullion coins after World War II. In recent years, Queen Elizabeth II has been the most frequently depicted monarch. Now, 2022 Gold British Sovereigns in certified condition are available at Silver.com.

British Gold Sovereigns have depicted various monarchs since 1817, but as modern bullion coins, Queen Elizabeth II has been the sole monarch for many years. Her passing in 2022 marked a significant change for the series.

Queen Elizabeth II’s record-breaking reign is notable for many reasons, including her efforts to modernize the royal family’s public image. She permitted television coverage of the royal family’s daily life in 1969 and opened Buckingham Palace to the public in 1993 to help fund Windsor Castle’s restoration.

The obverse of the 2022 Gold Sovereigns features the final effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. This right-profile portrait shows her at age 89, wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown. The portrait was created by Jody Clark in 2015.

The reverse of the 2022 British Sovereigns showcases the Royal Arms, designed by Timothy Noad. This design includes a shield with the coats of arms for England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, supported by the Lion of England and the Unicorn of Scotland.

These 2022 Gold British Sovereigns are graded Mint State 69, indicating coins with full, original mint luster and a maximum of two minor imperfections. These flaws are limited to small contact marks or hairlines outside the main focal points. As DPL coins, they feature frosted designs and mirror-like fields. Each of these coins is among the last 500 struck in 2022 by The Royal Mint for the Gold Sovereign Series featuring Queen Elizabeth II.

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
