When the United States Mint issued the Gold American Eagles in 1986. That year saw the release of BU Gold Eagles with 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz gold coins available to investors. While the BU Gold Eagles debuted with all these weights, the Proof Gold Eagles did not feature all of these weights until 1988.

In 1986, only a 1 oz Proof Gold Eagle was produced and released by the United States Mint. In 1987, the US Mint expanded those options to include a 1/2 oz Proof Gold Eagle. In 1988, the series finally expanded to its full extent with the release of 1/4 oz and 1/10 oz Proof Gold Eagles.

Obverse images on the 2022-W 1/10 oz Proof Gold American Eagles include a historic portrait of Lady Liberty. This 1907 design from Augustus Saint-Gaudens revolutionized American coin design by offering a modern interpretation of Liberty guiding the nation forward with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left.

Reverse designs on 2022-W Proof Gold Eagles feature the American bald eagle. This brand-new design from Jennie Norris was created in 2020 and made its debut on Gold Eagle Coins in July 2021 as the US Mint transitioned from the original reverse design by Miley Busiek to this new left-profile image of the head of the bald eagle.

These 2022-W 1/10 oz Proof Gold American Eagles are available in perfect condition. PF70 coins showcase full, original mint luster and come with no detracting flaws of any kind. UCAM coins are proof specimens with strong, frosted design elements and deeply-mirrored, clear fields. Early Release coins are those the NGC received for grading within 30 days of release from the mint.
