Medal Highlights:

  • Available to you in capsules or rolls of 10!
  • Fifth release in the South Korean Gold Crown collection!
  • Mintage is limited to 1,000 pieces worldwide!
  • Consists of One Troy ounce of .999 fine gold.
  • The obverse shows a gold crown of South Korea.
  • On the reverse is the mythological bird called Samjok-o.
  • Includes latent security device.

Between the 5th and 7th centuries, the Silla Dynasty crafted a number of ornate, decorative crowns. Following a lengthy investigation, the crowns were ultimately excavated in the former Silla capitol city that today is known as Gyeongju. The crowns were housed in pits lined of wood that were then layered with clay. Giant boulders were then placed over the pits and covered with dirt. Historians suspect this method was developed to prevent tomb robbers from finding the burial site.

All 2023 1 oz South Korean Crown Medals were crafted in fine gold and will arrive to you in new condition. Please note that as medallions, these are not considered legal tender by the Korean government. Upon delivery, you will find your medal housed in either a plastic capsule or a roll of 10. Each piece was produced by KOMSCO, the official mint of South Korea.

An elaborate gold crown features on the obverse of 2023 1 oz Gold South Korean Medals. This historical design nicely showcases the considerable care and craft that went into these ornate objects. Joining the crown on the obverse is the medal’s security feature and inscriptions that read 2023, Gold Crown.

The mythological bird known as Samjok-o graces the reverse of 2023 Gold South Korean Crown Medals. Also called the Three-Legged Crow, this creature was revered as a symbol of power in ancient Korea. The reverse also contains inscriptions along the edge reading KOMSCO, 1 oz Fine Gold .999, Republic of Korea.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
