Experience the timeless allure of the Morgan Silver Dollar, an iconic design cherished by collectors. This masterpiece, crafted by Assistant Engraver George T. Morgan in 1878, stands as a symbol of 19th-century American coinage. Its production spanned from 1878 to 1904, with a final striking in 1921. In 2021, the US Mint revived the Morgan and Peace Dollars, and now, in 2023, you have the opportunity to acquire the 2023-S Proof Silver Morgan Dollars, available online with certification from Silver.com.

In 1878, the production of Morgan Dollars involved three mints. The Philadelphia Mint handled the majority of production, while the San Francisco Mint and Carson City Mint contributed with smaller mintage figures.

Throughout the history of Silver Morgan Dollars, five branch mints played a role in striking these coins. Philadelphia and San Francisco consistently produced them each year. The New Orleans Mint issued the coins every year, except for 1878 and 1921. The Carson City Mint struck coins from 1878 to 1885 and again from 1889 to 1893 before closing. The Denver Mint only produced them in 1921.

The obverse design of the 2023-S Proof Silver Morgan Dollar features a left-profile bust of Lady Liberty, meticulously crafted by George T. Morgan. She wears a Phrygian cap, a coronet crown, and a laurel wreath in her hair.

On the reverse, you’ll find Morgan’s original heraldic eagle design—a forward-facing bald eagle clutching the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace, encircled by an oak-and-laurel wreath.

These 2023-S Silver Morgan Dollar Coins are exceptional, graded as PR69. They exhibit full, original mint luster with at most two minor imperfections, typically minuscule contact marks or hairlines, located away from the primary focal points. The First Strike designation signifies that these coins were submitted for grading within 30 days of their initial mint release.

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
