Welcome to the Perth Mint’s Lunar Series program, a tradition that began in 1996 with the introduction of lunar-themed coins. In 2020, the Lunar Series entered its third iteration, known as Lunar Series III. Now, you can own the 2024 2 oz Gold Australian Lunar Dragon Coins, available online at Silver.com.

  • Each coin comes securely encased in protective capsules!
  • This coin represents the fifth installment in the Australian Gold Lunar Series III!
  • Enjoy the benefit of unlimited mintages for the year 2024!
  • Consists of Two Troy ounces of .9999 fine gold in brilliant uncirculated (BU) condition.
  • The coin carries a face value of $200 (AUD), fully backed by the Australian government.
  • The obverse of the coin features the iconic Queen Elizabeth II memorial design.
  • On the reverse, you’ll find a captivating depiction of the Chinese dragon.
  • Each coin proudly showcases Perth Mint’s 125th-anniversary mint mark.
  • Enhanced security with a micro-engraved element on the reverse.

For the 2024 Year of the Dragon, Perth Mint once again collaborated with artist Ing Ing Jong. Ms. Jong has been a valued artist at Perth Mint since 2011, and her involvement with lunar collections began in 2013 with the Year of the Snake design in Lunar Series II. In 2024, she contributed her artistic talents to both the silver and gold coins, with the gold design also featured on the platinum coin.

Every 2024 2 oz Gold Australian Lunar Dragon Coin includes a protective capsule to ensure its pristine condition. These coins are in brilliant uncirculated condition and boast an unlimited mintage, meaning that Perth Mint will continue to produce them throughout 2024. This release holds special significance as it includes a distinctive P125 mint mark, commemorating the 125th anniversary of Perth Mint’s establishment in 1899.

On the obverse of the 2024 Gold Australian Lunar Dragon Coins, you’ll find a timeless portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Lunar Series III program continues to feature Elizabeth II on the obverse, showcasing the 2015 design by Jody Clark. This right-profile relief depicts the Queen at the age of 89, adorned with the George IV State Diadem.

The reverse side of the 2024 2 oz Gold Lunar Dragons presents a graceful depiction of the Chinese dragon. In contrast to Western mythology, this dragon is not portrayed as a fearsome fire-breather but as a symbol of benevolence, power, water, rain, and agriculture. It is often depicted as a long, serpentine creature with antler-like horns and the ability to control the weather. This side of the coin also features the special anniversary mint mark and a micro-engraved security element.

We also never have access to your credit/debit card details, as they are securely communicated directly to the payment processor (Authorize.net) and never retained by Silver.com. For this reason, we also don't process credit/debit card orders over the phone, as it is the least secure way to process those transactions.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
