Samurai warriors first emerged in Japan during the Heian period (794-1185 CE) as protectors of regional lords. Over the centuries, they gained political influence, particularly under the Kamakura shogunate. These highly trained fighters followed bushido, or “the way of the warrior,” a code that emphasized loyalty, discipline, and mastery of combat. Samurai remain some of history’s most respected warriors. Silver.com now offers the 2025 5 oz Proof Silver Cook Islands Samurai Coin for collectors and enthusiasts.

Coin Highlights:

  • Comes in a presentation window box!
  • Ultra high-relief proof finish!
  • Limited mintage of only 555 coins!
  • Consists of Five Troy ounces of .9999 fine silver.
  • Bears a face value of $25 (CID), backed by the Cook Islands.
  • Obverse features King Charles III.
  • Reverse highlights a fierce Samurai warrior.

The distinct look of the samurai—marked by their curved swords, layered armor, and symbolic crests—became a defining aspect of Japanese warfare. During the turbulent Sengoku period (1467-1603), samurai refined their combat skills, using traditional weapons such as bows and swords, as well as firearms introduced by European traders.

Each 2025 5 oz Proof Silver Cook Islands Samurai Coin is presented in a decorative window box. The packaging features a dynamic background depicting flames surrounding a Japanese castle. These proof coins offer frosted designs, mirrored backgrounds, and an ultra high-relief strike that adds dimensionality to the artwork.

The obverse of the 2025 Proof Silver Cook Islands Samurai Coin displays a left-profile bust of King Charles III. This portrait, created by Dan Thorne, captures the king without a crown.

The reverse of the 2025 5 oz Proof Silver Samurai Coin features a fully armored samurai warrior. When the Tokugawa shogunate (1603-1868) took power, the country experienced a long period of peace, leading the samurai to shift from warriors to administrative and cultural figures. Many became patrons of the arts, engaging in calligraphy, poetry, and tea ceremonies. However, this era ended with the Meiji Restoration in 1868, which abolished the samurai class and prohibited the carrying of swords.

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
