The 2026 American Gold Eagle release is a special issue marking 40 years of the Gold Eagle program from the United States Mint. Since first arriving in 1986, the Gold Eagle has become one of the most familiar gold bullion coins in the U.S., valued for its dependable gold content and classic look. The series has always included four sizes, featuring a 1 oz coin alongside three fractional pieces. The 1/10 oz coin continues to be the most sought-after fractional option, giving buyers a practical way to add smaller amounts of gold to a collection or portfolio. Each Gold Eagle is struck in 22-karat gold with a purity of 91.67%. Right now, certified 2026 1/10 oz Gold American Eagle Coins are available at Silver.com.

In 2021, the Mint updated the 1/10 oz Gold Eagles with a new reverse design from artist Jennie Norris. The fresh look presents a detailed close-up of a bald eagle, along with added security touches that enhance the coin’s modern appeal. Even with the reverse change, the Mint kept the long-running Saint-Gaudens obverse, ensuring the series stayed rooted in its traditional American imagery.
All 2026 1/10 oz Gold American Eagle Coins offered here come in Mint State 69 condition. MS69 examples display full, original mint shine and sharp design detail, with no more than two tiny flaws visible. These small marks are usually light contact points or thin hairlines that do not appear in key focal areas. First Strike coins are pieces delivered to PCGS for grading within 30 days of their official release.
The obverse of the 2026 Gold American Eagle features Lady Liberty in Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ timeless 1907 design. Liberty strides forward in full view, holding a torch high in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The background includes the U.S. Capitol Building, bright sunrays, and a ring of stars that frames the design.
The reverse of the 2026 1/10 oz Gold Eagle Coin uses the updated bald eagle portrait first introduced in 2021. Designed by Jennie Norris, the image shows the eagle’s head in left-profile relief, offering a bold and detailed modern counterpart to the historic obverse.
