The obverse of the 2026-W Proof 1 oz Silver American Eagle displays Adolph A. Weinman’s timeless Walking Liberty design. Liberty appears in full-length left-profile relief, moving toward the sun at the horizon. She is draped in the American flag, extending her right hand forward and holding oak and laurel branches in her left. Also present are the America250 design features, including a dual-date of 1776-2026 and a Liberty Bell privy mark.
On the reverse of the 2026-W Proof Silver American Eagle is the contemporary bald eagle design by Emily Damstra. First introduced in 2021, the image shows the eagle descending with its wings raised, rendered in left-profile relief. The eagle holds an oak branch in its talons, completing the design.
Proof Silver Eagle coins were struck in limited quantities during their early years in the late 1980s. From 1986 through 1989, mintages ranged from approximately 500,000 to just over one million coins each year. All Proof Silver Eagles from that decade were produced at the San Francisco Mint and remain important early issues within the series.
These 2026-W 1 oz Proof Silver American Eagle Coins are certified in perfect condition. A PR70 grade indicates no visible flaws under magnification. DCAM, or deep-cameo proof, describes the sharp contrast between frosted designs and mirrored fields. First Strike coins are those submitted for grading within 30 days of the mint’s release.
