Mexican Banditos were outlaws in the Wild West originally from Mexico. Whether they crossed the US-Mexico border time and again to commit crimes or simply set up shop permanently in the Wild West, banditos and gunslingers alike wreaked havoc on small towns and ranches throughout the region.
On the obverse of the 5 oz Antique Silver American Western Skulls Mexican Bandito Round is the image of a Mexican outlaw. The name bandito came from the Spanish term bandido which was used to refer to Mexican gunslingers. These individuals were just like their American counterparts, and in this design are depicted wearing a sombrero with a bandolier of bullets crossed at the bottom of the design field.
The reverse of the Antique Silver American Western Skulls Mexican Bandito Round features the fried eagle design. A deathly riff on the heraldic eagle, the primary change in the image is a dead eagle with no feathers. You’ll otherwise find the heraldic shield, arrows of war, olive branch of peace, and the cluster of 13 stars overhead.
