The rounds in this particular issue have a layer of colorized lacquer on the reverse design element only.
The Moon Gazer design on the reverse of the round features a rabbit, moon, and rolling hills. Each of these primary design elements has colorized lacquer applied to bring the images to life as Lisa Parker originally intended. As a child, Lisa Parker worked with colored pencils on her art. Throughout her career, she used both oils and watercolors, eventually settling on watercolors as the first choice.
On the obverse side of 5 oz Colorized Proof Silver Lisa Parker Collection Moon Gazer Rounds is the image of a rabbit as it looks up at the dominating moon overhead. The colorized lacquers bring the moon to life with a silver-white luster, the rabbit’s fur appears natural in hues of gray and white, and the rolling hills are bright green.
The reverse face of 5 oz Silver Lisa Parker Collection Moon Gazer Rounds includes the common design element for the series. Known as Wild One, this image includes a wolf’s head facing directly at the viewer. The wolf’s head is framed in the background by a five-pointed star with barren trees arching to frame the design field.
Anonymous Mint teamed up with the Osborne Mint, America’s oldest private mint, to produce these silver rounds. Julie Lindquist of the Anonymous Mint selected the designs in this series and Luigi Badia hand-sculpted the dies for use in production.
