The lasting image of the Golden Age of Piracy in the Western world is that of treasure chests overflowing with bars of gold and silver. Many modern refineries produce gold and silver bars with highly refined designs and precision machining that creates sharp edges and details. The 5 oz Silver Monarch Skull and Crossbones Bar from Monarch Precious Metals is reminiscent of traditional production methods because that is the goal of the refiners at MPM.
All Monarch Precious Metals products are hand poured into casts to create unique products, each of which has a rustic appearance that adds visual appeal for investors and collectors looking for special products.
The obverse face of each bar has a rough, matte finish with no text engravings of any kind. The only visible image is a skeletal structure with sunken features for the eye sockets and nose cavity, as well as the eerie smile that comes with a full set of teeth.
On the reverse of the bar, the finish is flat and rough. The only engravings featured on this side are those of the weight, purity, and metal content of the bar, as well as an individual serial number that indicates the bars production status out of 1,000 total bars produced.
Monarch Precious Metals is one of North America’s newest private precious metals refiners. The refinery was opened in 2008 in the Rogue Valley of southern Oregon. All products from the refinery are produced using hand-poured techniques and hand-stamped engravings in the interest of creating rustic products.
