Tokuriki is Japan’s oldest precious metals refiner. Though it has a long history of gold and silver refining, it is also involved in the refining and production of platinum bullion products. This includes large cast platinum bars. If you’re looking to expand your platinum holdings or make a big splash with your first buy, we’ve got just the product for you to add to your portfolio. Now, 500 Gram Platinum Tokuriki Bars are available to you for purchase online at Silver.com.

Bar Highlights:

  • Bars ship to you in cardboard shipping boxes!
  • Refined in Japan by Tokuriki!
  • Massive cast platinum bar!
  • Consists of 500 Grams, or 16.07 Troy ounces, of .9995 fine platinum.
  • The obverse depicts the logo of the refiner and the hallmarks of the bar.
  • On the reverse is a blank field.
  • Unique serial numbers.

Cast bars are the simplest to produce in terms of production steps, but take longer to make in many cases than minted ingots. Cast platinum bars are refined by first melting down the platinum and pouring it into prefabricated molds. The platinum is then left to cool in the mold until it is ready for hallmarks and any other designs to be stamped or etched into the surface of the bar.

A cast platinum bar will typically have designs and hallmarks that are stamped incuse in the bar. While minted ingots often have designs that are engraved onto the surface of the bar with 3D relief, incuse designs on cast bars have images and text that are sunk into the bar, maintaining a flat surface with no raised relief.

The obverse of the 500 Gram Platinum Tokuriki Bars comes with the only design elements on the specimen. At the top of the design field is the Tokuriki logo, a circular seal with Japanese characters at the center and English text in the ring around that. You will also find the purity, metal content, and weight on this face of the bar. Unique serial numbers are also found on this side of the bar.

On the reverse of 500 Gram Platinum Bars from Tokuriki, the bar has a blank field. Though the field is devoid of purposefully struck design elements, that doesn’t mean this side lacks its own visual features. Cast bars often have striations and other textures that form as the bar cools in the mold.

These 500 Gram Platinum Tokuriki Bars are available to you brand new from the mint. The bars are packaged inside of boxes for shipping. Tokuriki has been in the precious metals industry since 1727 and maintained the same Tokyo headquarters through earthquakes and the ravages of World War II.
