Adolph A. Weinman created the design found on the 90% Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollar coins. It was in use on the coins from 1916, when it replaced the Barber Coinage, to 1947 when it was replaced by the Benjamin Franklin design for the half dollar.

The United States Mint has since revived the design twice since it left the half dollar. The first came in 1986 when the Silver American Eagle bullion coins debuted from the mint. The other instance occurred in 2016 when the US Mint marked the 100th anniversary of the Mercury Dime, Standing Liberty Quarter, and Walking Liberty Half Dollar with 24-karat gold coin releases.

The obverse side of these 90% Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollars comes with a depiction of Liberty. As the name suggests, Liberty is featured walking toward the sun on the horizon of the coin’s design field. The sun is rising over a mountain peak in the distance as Liberty walks with the American flag draped over her shoulders and branches of oak and laurel in her left hand.

On the reverse face of 90% Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollars is an image of the American bald eagle. The design on this side shows the eagle on a mountaintop as it sits on the perch of a small sapling. The bird prepares to take flight as it lifts its wings up behind its figure.

These 90% Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollars come in a plastic bag with a total of 1,000 US Half Dollars totaling $500 (USD) in all. The coins in this release all have 90% silver content by weight with 10% copper included. Please remember that your bag will contain various different date marks from the date ranges 1916 to 1947.
