In July 1969, NASA sent human beings to another celestial body for the first time in human history, and returned them safely to the surface of Earth. While mankind’s pursuit of life on Mars has a long way to go to become reality, NASA has taken another step in the right direction some 51 years to the date of Apollo 11’s triumph in the summer of 1969. To celebrate the successful launch and landing of Perseverance on Mars, you can now collect a legal tender coin with brilliant, high-definition graphics included. Right now, Eisenhower Dollar Rover Landing Legal Tender Coins are available to purchase online at Silver.com.

Coin Highlights:

  • Ships to you inside of a protective capsule and comes with a small display stand!
  • Beautiful high-definition graphics overlay the standard obverse of the Eisenhower Dollar!
  • Coins struck between 1971 and 1978!
  • Consists of a cupro-nickel alloy.
  • Bears a face value of $1 (USD0 backed by the federal government.

Each of the Eisenhower Dollar Rover Landing Legal Tender Coins offered in this product listing comes to you with a protective capsule and small stand. The small display stand allows you to show off your new collectible item upright. These coins are legal tender Eisenhower Dollars that have been enhanced with high-definition, colorized visuals on the obverse. Overlaying the image of President Eisenhower is the Perseverance lander that is currently sending stunning images of Mars back to Earth.

The Eisenhower Dollars used in this process are still readily available to collectors on the market. The cupro-nickel coins issued in the series were released from 1971 to 1978 by the US Mint before being replaced by the Susan B. Anthony Dollar. However, in this listing, you will find coins from 1971-1974 and 1977-1978 only. The reverse design found on these coins was used in those years, with a two-year replacement in 1975 and 1976 to celebrate America’s Bicentennial with an image of the Liberty Bell and the Moon.

The obverse side of these Eisenhower Dollar Rover Landing Legal Tender Coins comes with a high-definition depiction of Perseverance on the Martian landscape. As the red landscape of Mars stretches out on the horizon behind the rover, Perseverance goes about its daily duties on the Martian landscape exploring and collecting soil samples to analyze. Perseverance lifted off from Earth on July 30, 2020, and landed on Mars at its intended landing site on February 18, 2021.

On the reverse face of Eisenhower Dollar Rover Landing Legal Tender Coins is the original design from the US Mint. The American bald eagle is shown landing on the Moon with an olive branch in its talons as Earth is visible in the distant background. This design replicated the mission patch from NASA’s Apollo 11 mission.
