Every popular coin in American history has been replaced at some point by a different design. The Peace Silver Dollar has the dubious distinction of replacing the famous Morgan Silver Dollar after it returned for just one year of production in 1921. You have the chance to purchase your very own Peace Silver Dollar right now through this Silver.com listing.

The Peace Silver Dollar design was inspired by numismatists looking for a new design that honored the hard-earned peace after World War I. The Goddess of Liberty and a bald eagle at rest were included on the reverse and obverse design of the coin, and both images were created by Anthony de Francisci.
Each of the coins in this product listing is available in Mint State 64 condition. Coins with this grade have at least an average luster, several small contact marks clustered in groups, and one or two moderate marks.
On the obverse side of each coin is the image of the Goddess of Liberty. Her softened image features a large crown, the word “Liberty” above her head, and the phrase “In God We Trust” along the bottom.
The reverse side shows the bald eagle, America’s national emblem, at rest. Rather than the traditional wings-spread image with arrows in its talons, this eagle is shown resting peacefully atop its perch with only the olive branch of peace.
Peace Silver Dollar coins were struck starting in 1921, replacing the Morgan Silver Dollar design, and produced through 1928. An additional two-year production occurred in 1934 and 1935. The United States Mint produced these coins at the San Francisco (S) and Denver Mint (D) with mint marks, and at the Philadelphia Mint without mint marks.
