The latest sovereign coin program from the Perth Mint in Australia has arrived, and it boasts the same high quality and guaranteed purity of all the other coins produced in the nation’s finest minting facility. Like other coins series from the Perth Mint, these coins are available in various weights and will have different mintage levels set by the refinery. Right now, the 2016 ½ oz Gold Australian Kangaroo Coin is available courtesy of Silver.com.

Coin Highlights:

  • Maximum mintage of only 100,000 coins! See historical Perth Gold Kangaroo mintages.
  • Coins ship to you in an acrylic capsule courtesy of the Perth Mint.
  • Consists of one-half troy ounce of .9999 fine gold.
  • Face value of $50 (AUD) is fully backed by Australia’s government.
  • Features the latest Australian Kangaroo design.
  • Ships in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.

The Gold Australian Kangaroo series is unlike any other available from the Perth Mint, or any other global mint. The bullion coins are available in a total of five weights, ranging from 1 kilogram and 1 oz, to fractional weights of ½ oz, ¼ oz, and 1/10 oz. Interestingly, the Perth Mint will use the same design features on the four lowest weights, but a different design on the 1 kilogram coin.

Among the coins in the series, the 2016 ½ oz Gold Australian Kangaroo coin will have the lowest mintage available. While the 1 kilogram and 1 oz coins have unlimited mintage, the Perth Mint has capped production of the ½ oz coin at a program-low 100,000 coins for the worldwide market.

On the reverse face of these coins are two kangaroos. One of the kangaroos is easily visible in the foreground, resting on its haunches and looking back over its shoulder. The other kangaroo is represented by a silhouette that is finished in a frosted appearance. Engravings include “Australian Kangaroo” along the top, and the year of minting, weight, purity, and metal content below.

The obverse face features Ian Rank-Broadley’s image of Queen Elizabeth II. His right-profile portrait of Her Majesty has appeared on British and Australian coins since 1988 when it was created, and represents the fourth update to her image on coins across the former British Empire.

We also never have access to your credit/debit card details, as they are securely communicated directly to the payment processor (Authorize.net) and never retained by Silver.com. Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
