Meet the 1/2 oz Gold Eagle, the largest fractional-ounce coin in the Gold Eagle Series, and one of the least minted coins in the series each year. This coin holds a special place in the hearts of certain investors, especially those who prefer certified coins in perfect or near-perfect condition. The good news is that you can now purchase the 2024 1/2 oz Gold American Eagle Coins in pristine condition from Silver.com.

Coin Highlights:

  • Each coin is protected within PCGS plastic slabs!
  • This marks the 39th release of 1/2 oz Gold Eagles!
  • Limited quantities of certified perfect coins are available!
  • Every coin consists of One-Half Troy ounce of actual gold content.
  • It carries a face value of $25 (USD) as issued by the United States.
  • The Professional Coin Grading Service has assigned these coins a grade of Mint State 70.
  • These are First Strike coins.
  • The obverse features a classic depiction of Lady Liberty.
  • On the reverse, you’ll find the proud American bald eagle.

The introduction of the Gold Eagle in 1986 by the US Mint marked a significant event in the world of coinage. It not only marked the return of US gold coins since 1933 but also the release of the purest gold coin from the US Mint since 1834.

In 1834, the gold content in US circulation coins dropped to 89.93%. It was raised to .900 in 1838 and remained at that level until 1933 when gold coin production came to a halt. American Gold Eagle bullion coins maintain a gold content of 91.67%, along with 5.33% copper and 3% silver to ensure durability.

The obverse of the 2024 1/2 oz Gold Eagle Coins features an exquisite portrayal of Lady Liberty. Designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens in 1907, this front-facing relief of Liberty shows her walking forward with the sun’s rays in the background. She holds a torch and an olive branch in her hands.

On the reverse side of the 2024 Gold American Eagles, you’ll find the iconic American bald eagle. This left-profile relief of the eagle’s head was designed by Jennie Norris in 2020 and made its debut on Gold Eagles in mid-2021.

These 2024 1/2 oz Gold American Eagle Coins are available in perfect condition. MS70 coins exhibit the full, original mint luster without any imperfections. First Strike coins are those certified by PCGS within 30 days of their mint release.

We also never have access to your credit/debit card details, as they are securely communicated directly to the payment processor (Authorize.net) and never retained by Silver.com. For this reason, we also don't process credit/debit card orders over the phone, as it is the least secure way to process those transactions.

Do you charge sales tax?

We are required to collect sales tax in certain states. You can review your states sales tax policy here: https://www.silver.com/taxes. You should always consult with a tax adviser for specific advice in your area.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
