On the reverse side of each coin is the special Year of the Monkey design from Ng. The monkey featured on the reverse face is captured in a close-up view, almost peering directly into your eyes as it hangs from the branches of a peach tree. Engravings include “Year of the Monkey” and the coin’s issue date and the French-language phrase for monkey’s year on the Zodiac, “Annee du Singe.”
The obverse features Susanna Blunt’s right-profile portrait of England’s Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is featured along with an engraving of her name and the saying “D.G. Regina.”
