The Silver Armenian Noah’s Ark coin is produced in a variety of weights every year. While popular programs such as the Silver Canadian Maple Leaf and Silver American Eagle share the consistent design approach of the Silver Armenian Noah’s Ark, these coins feature only a 1 oz option. Today, investors and collectors have the chance to purchase a 2016 1 Kilogram Silver Armenian Noah’s Ark Coin.

Silver Armenian Noah’s Ark coins were introduced for the first time in 2011. This is the 5th anniversary production year for the program, but the 1 Kilogram coin cannot celebrate its 5th anniversary just yet. The first production year included only a ¼ oz, ½ oz, and 1 oz coin. The 5 oz, 10 oz, and 1 Kilogram coins were introduced a year later in 2012.
Since its introduction in 2011, the Silver Armenian Noah’s Ark coins has sold 2 million coins across the European continent and around the globe. The biblical tale motif of Noah’s Ark was chosen due to Armenia’s close connection to Christianity and the historic ties of the nation to Mount Ararat, which used to fall within its borders.
On the reverse side of each 2016 1 Kilogram Silver Armenian Noah’s Ark coin is the image of the massive ship floating on the flood waters. In the background you can see the sun rising over Mount Ararat, while a dove flies into the foreground with an olive branch as a symbol of dry ground.
The obverse features the coat of arms for Armenia, along with the inscription of “Republic of Armenia.” Both that inscription and the inscription of “Noah’s Ark” on the reverse are featured in both English and Armenian.
Geiger Edelmetalle strikes the Silver Armenian Noah’s Ark coin for the Central Bank of Armenia at its Leipziger Edelmetallverarbeitungs subsidiary, hence the “LEV” mint mark on the coins.
