For more than a century, the Royal Canadian Mint has produced both circulation currency for the nation of Canada and commemorative bullion specimens for investors and collectors to purchase. The RCM’s commemorative gold coins are available in a variety of weights and designs, ranging from 1/25 oz coins to 2 oz coins with colorized finishes and unique shapes. Today, 1/2 oz Gold Canadian Commemorative Coins are available to you online at Silver.com from random years.

Coin Highlights:

  • Coins ship to you inside of protective packaging!
  • Available from random years and programs!
  • Consists of One-Half Troy ounce of .9167 fine gold.
  • The face value in CAD is fully backed by Canada’s government.
  • Obverse of the coins features Queen Elizabeth II.
  • Reverse designs depend upon the program and year of issue.

The Royal Canadian Mint opened in 1908 and has established itself as a leader in the precious metals industry. Gold Canadian Commemorative coins are produced regularly with limited mintage figures and one-of-a-kind designs the mint doesn’t use on larger programs or even repeat again in the future.

The RCM’s history of innovation includes the production of the first 5 oz .9999 fine silver coin, the first colorized coin produced using plasma technology, and the first irregular-shaped (square) coin. In this unique listing from Silver.com, you can purchase 1/2 oz Gold Canadian Commemorative Coins from random years and programs.

When you purchase 1/2 oz Gold Canadian Commemorative Coins in this listing, you receive a random coin. When your payment has processed, the team in our warehouse will select a coin(s) for you from our available selection at that time. We cannot guarantee you a specific design or year of issue as these are both random factors determined by availability when your payment is cleared.

There are examples of 1/2 oz Gold Canadian Commemorative Coins we can point to though. One such 1/2 oz Gold Commemorative Coin released by the Royal Canadian Mint in recent years is the Canadian Explorers – Pierre Gaultier coin. The reverse includes the image French-Canadian explorer Pierre Gaultier on the shores of Lake of the Woods with a First Nation tribal member for a guide.

On the obverse of all 1/2 oz Gold Canadian Commemoratives, you’ll find the image of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is featured in right-profile relief on all Gold Canadian Coins, though her portrait has been updated at times. Recent examples include the third-generation design (1990-2002) by Dora de Pedery-Hunt and the fourth-generation design (2003-present) from Susanna Blunt.

We also never have access to your credit/debit card details, as they are securely communicated directly to the payment processor (Authorize.net) and never retained by Silver.com. For this reason, we also don't process credit/debit card orders over the phone, as it is the least secure way to process those transactions.

In addition, all VISA and MasterCard orders undergo an additional step of user authentication - the respective Verified by VISA or MasterCard SecureCode programs. Upon completing checkout with a VISA or MasterCard credit/debit card, you may be promoted for additional details to confirm your identity and protect our customers against credit card fraud.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
