On the obverse side of each 1 oz Antique Silver American Western Skulls Mexican Bandito Round is the image of a Mexican outlaw. As an outlaw, you’d call them a bandito, but as a gunslinger or cowboy for hire, they were known as vaqueros. Call them what you wish, Mexican Banditos were a force for good or evil depending on the highest bidder.
The Mexican Bandito depicted here wears a large sombrero on his skull with a mustache visible on his upper lip. If you look close enough, you’ll see he’s missing two teeth up front. The crossed-weapon theme in the American Western Skulls Collection manifests itself in this design with bandoliers, leather straps carrying individually loaded ammunition for rifles and pistols.
For the reverse design of all Silver American Western Skulls Mexican Bandito Rounds, the common design of the fried eagle is once again used. In this final release of the collection, the fried eagle appears as it has throughout the series as a featherless bird with the national shield on its chest and its talons clutching arrows and an olive branch.
