Queen Elizabeth II is found on the obverse side of the 1 oz Colorized Silver Australian Lunar Coins. Her Majesty is featured here in right-profile relief, with most coins boasting the Ian Rank-Broadley design. This design was created in 1998 and shows the Queen wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara.

Various lunar animals are shown on the reverse of 1 oz Colorized Silver Australian Lunar Coins. The Perth Mint uses new designs of the 12 animals in each of its Lunar Series collections, capturing each animal in its associated date mark. Colorized lacquers are added only to this side of the coins and limited to the figures of the animals.
