William Wyon is the first artist and former Chief Engraver featured in the Royal Mint’s Great Engraver Series. His original design for Una and the Lion was created entirely by hand and is widely considered to be one of Britain’s greatest coin designs. It was produced by the Royal Mint on national coinage through the 1880s and revived in 2019 for the launch of The Great Engravers bullion coins. Now, his iconic design comes to a gold bar for sale with the imagery reimagined by Jody Clark.

All of these 1 oz Gold Great Britain The Great Engravers Collection Una and the Lion Bars are available to you with an individual, sealed blisterpack. The pack features a gray assay card on the obverse with the Union Jack flag and name of the design, as well as the name of the mint. The reverse of the card is light blue and features the authenticating weight, metal content, and purity, as well as the unique serial number from the bar.

The obverse of Gold Great Britain The Great Engravers Collection Una and the Lion Bars features Jody Clark’s modern take on William Wyon’s Una and the Lion concept. Here, Queen Victoria stands in left-profile relief with her right hand on a scepter and her left holding the monarch’s globe. A powerful lion sits at her side ready to serve. You will note the wind is at the back of both figures in the design as the Queen’s stray locks of hair and the lion’s mane blow from right to left.

On the reverse of 1 oz Gold The Great Engravers Collection Una and the Lions Bars is the Royal Mint seal. The official seal is located at the top and accompanied by markings of the weight, purity, metal content, and serial number.
