Once Asahi Refining completed its acquisition of Johnson Matthey units in North America, the mint began to expand its available silver bullion specimens for investors in the North American precious metals market. Following the initial production of silver bullion minted ingots, Asahi produced silver rounds for investors to purchase as well. Today, 1 oz Silver Asahi Rounds are available to you online at Silver.com.

Round Highlights:

  • Available to ship to you inside of individual plastic flips, tubes of 20, small boxes of 100, or cases of 500!
  • Refined by Asahi!
  • Consists of One Troy ounce of .999 fine silver.
  • The obverse features the mint name and logo.
  • On the reverse is a repeating image of the mint logo.

With more than 200 years of experience in the precious metals industry, Asahi Refining is recognized as a world leader in the production of silver and gold bullion products. The company is based in Tokyo, Japan, and expanded its global footprint in 2014 when it began the acquisition of former Johnson Matthey facilities in North America as the latter company exited the precious metals industry after nearly 200 years in the industry.

All 1 oz Silver Asahi Rounds in this product listing are available to you in brand-new condition from the mint. The silver rounds are packaged individually inside of plastic flips for shipping and housing.

The obverse side of the 1 oz Silver Asahi Rounds includes the mint logo, name, weight, purity, and metal content. You will find the stylized Asahi Refining logo in the center, with the words “Asahi Refining” inscribed below the logo. Around the outer rocker of the design field are inscriptions of “1 Ounce Troy” and “Fine Silver 999.” The former is inscribed along the top rocker, with the latter inscribed along the bottom rocker.

On the reverse face of 1 oz Silver Asahi Rounds is a depiction of the mint logo. The stylized logo, as seen on the obverse field, is repeated across the design element on this face of the silver round. There are no text inscriptions or other design elements on this face of the silver rounds.

Asahi purchased Johnson Matthey’s North American refining and assaying operations starting in 2014, with the process completed by early 2016. Asahi first focused on producing minted ingots from the facilities with designs and shapes similar to the previous Johnson Matthey products. However, as time went by, Asahi produced more unique items to include these new silver rounds.
