Silver Kangaroos are among the leading bullion coins for sale from the Perth Mint. Previously struck as proof coins, in 2016 the Perth Mint launched the coins as an annual-release silver bullion coin with .9999 fine silver. Now, 1 oz Silver Australian Kangaroos in near-perfect condition are available to you for purchase online at Silver.com.

  • Issued since 2016!
  • Availability of certified coins is limited!
  • Consists of One Troy ounce of .9999 fine silver.
  • Issued a face value of $1 (AUD) by Australia.
  • Bears a Grade of Mint State 69 from the Professional Coin Grading Service or Numismatic Guaranty Corporation.
  • On the obverse is a depiction of Queen Elizabeth II.
  • The reverse depicts the leaping kangaroo.
  • “P” mint mark from the Perth Mint.
  • Please remember you might receive matching dates and additional labels if you buy several coins.

The Perth Mint has a long history of issuing silver bullion coins with images inspired by native species to the continent. The kangaroo has long featured on a gold bullion series originally known as the Gold Australian Nugget from 1986 to 1989, but has been released as the Gold Australian Kangaroo since 1990.

Other silver-specific collections available from the Perth Mint include the Silver Australian Kookaburra, Silver Australian Koala, and Silver Australian Wedge Tail Eagle. While all of these coins predate the release of the bullion Silver Australian Kangaroo, it was the Kangaroo that was the first to use .9999 fine silver content. Additionally, the Kangaroo is the only release among these that uses the same reverse design each year rather than switching up the images from one year to the next.

On the obverse side of the 1 oz Silver Australian Kangaroo is a depiction of Queen Elizabeth II. Soon after the mint introduced this collection, the effigy of Her Majesty was updated to a sixth-generation design. In 2016 and 2017, the fifth-generation Ian Rank-Broadley design originally created in 1998 for the Royal Mint of England featured on the coins. In 2018, the new Jody Clark design created in 2015 for the Royal Mint of England debuted on the coin.

The reverse face of Silver Australian Kangaroos includes a leaping kangaroo. The marsupial is shown in left-profile relief as it hops along with stylized rays of sunshine emanating from the background field of the coin.

These 1 oz Silver Australian Kangaroos are available to you as near-perfect specimens. Coins in Mint State 69 condition showcase full, original mint luster with a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. Examples of acceptable flaws include minuscule contact marks or hairlines only.

This is a random year and varied label listing. We cannot guarantee a date mark or the presence of an additional label such as First Strike or Early Release. All coins are chosen at random once your payment has been processed. If you purchase several coins, you may receive matching dates and additional labels.

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
