On the obverse of all 1 oz Proof Silver American Eagle coins you’ll find the image of Walking Liberty. This figure of Liberty is shown walking toward the setting sun with oak and laurel branches in her left arm, her right hand outstretched, and the American flag around her shoulders.

The reverse of the Proof Silver Eagle bears the heraldic shield of the United States. This includes the national shield with the bald eagle set behind it, and 13 stars above its head. This side features the mint marks on proof coins, with 1986-1998 coins featuring an “S,” 1999-2000 coins featuring a “P,” and 2001-present coins featuring a “W.”

Additional labels that may be present on these coins include the UCAM/DCAM designation. This is specifically for proof coins with a deeply-mirrored, clear background field and a strong, frosted matte finish.
