All 1 oz Silver SilverTowne Saint-Gaudens Rounds available here come individually packaged or in bulk options of 20 and 500. Individual rounds come with protective flips. Multiples are housed in plastic tubes of 20 rounds or boxes of 500 rounds. The box holds a total of 25 separate 20-round tubes.
The front of the round attempts to replicate Saint-Gauden’s classically inspired rendition of Lady Liberty. She is shown in a billowing toga. With a torch in one of her hands and an olive branch in the other, she represents the enlightenment and the peace that the United States constantly tried to achieve. Illuminating the space behind her are rays of sunlight, while a series of 50 stars frames this poignant image. Omitted from Saint-Gauden’s original design are the Capitol Building and the word, “Liberty.”
The back of the round offers a stylized version of Saint-Gauden’s “Eagle in Flight.” However, instead of featuring an eagle flying across a sunlit sky, the eagle appears to be perched on top of an olive branch with its wings spread over it in protection. Inscribed in an arched formation above the eagle are the coin’s weight and the purity. Appearing directly beneath the eagle’s talons is the SilverTowne Logo with its iconic pick axe in place of the “T.” The composition of this image is slightly similar to one of Saint-Gauden’s initial designs for the double eagle that also featured the national bird standing on top of an olive branch.
This 1 oz SilverTowne Saint-Gauden Silver Round provides a stunning tribute to one of US currency’s most memorable coin designs, offering both investors and collectors a memorable piece to add to their stack.
