PAMP Suisse developed its proprietary Veriscan technology in an effort to curb counterfeiting that negatively impacts the precious metals market. The microscopic surface of each gold bar provides a unique fingerprint, of sorts, for Fortuna products. When gold bars are minted by PAMP, they are immediately scanned and cataloged based upon that unique identity. Customers can later scan the QR code on the assay of their card to authenticate the identity of their individual gold bar.
Fortuna was a goddess in Roman mythology associated with fortune, luck (good and bad), virtue, and chance. She was among the first Roman goddesses to have temples erected in her honor, with one particular temple dating back to 293 BC. Today, she is often depicted with as many as four symbols representing her role in Roman culture.
On the obverse of the PAMP Suisse Gold Fortuna 100 Gram Bar are three of those four symbols. A wheel is slightly visible behind her left-profile figure, which is blindfolded and wearing a wreath atop her head. The final symbol, a cornucopia, is attached to her head and spills forth a bounty of riches into her own clutched hands.
The reverse side of the bar contains the identifying characteristics of the bar, such as the weight, metal content, and purity of the bar. Additional inscriptions include the PAMP Suisse corporate logo, assayer’s mark, and individual serial number assigned to the bar.
All PAMP Suisse Gold Fortuna bars are minted in its Ticino, Switzerland facility using .9999 fine gold. Founded in 1977, PAMP is an independent entity within the MKS Group. The Geneva-based firm is a global precious metal and financial services provider.
