The Three Graces are goddesses from Greek mythology. The daughters of supreme ruler Zeus and the nymph Eurynome, are generally depicted as a trio frequenting various celebratory events in Olympus. They are referenced in the classic poetry of Homer and Hesiod, where they are referred to as Aglaea, Euphrosyne, and Thalia. Qualities typically associated with the Three Graces include joy, elegance, youth, and beauty. While Mr. Wyon held onto these qualities in his depiction of the Three Graces, he also intended them to be symbols for England, Ireland, and Scotland.
