Cast silver bars represent the oldest form of bullion bar production. Gold and silver bars have been produced in this format for centuries because of the relative simplicity of doing so. When simply storing wealth in gold and silver bars, cast bars are a great option because the premiums for most cast bars are less than more intricate minted bars, but also tend to come in much larger weights to accommodate large stores of wealth.

The average cast silver bar is produced by first melting silver down and pouring the molten silver into a mold. The mold is designed to the exact specifications the refiner is looking for in the end product, ensuring the proper weight and silver fineness for the silver bar. As the bar cools, or after it has cooled, the identifying markers are engraved onto the bar. Typically, cast silver bars have markings on just one surface.

The obverse side of these 100 oz Silver Metalor Bars includes the only markings you will find on the product. The Metalor mint name is featured at the top with inscriptions of “100 Ounce, Silver, 999.9.” At the bottom of the bar, you will find the assayer’s mark from Metalor with a unique serial number.

On the reverse face of the 100 oz Silver Metalor Bars there is a blank field. This face of the bar was down in the mold during cooling and not accessible for markings to be stamped into the surface of the bar. This is common among cast silver bars to have a rough reverse face with no markings.

What if my order is lost or stolen in transit?

All Orders are fully insured by Silver.com from the time of carrier pickup to the time of finaly delivery, defined as a signature or delivery confirmation from the carrier. Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase.
