The Gold American Eagle coins are available to purchase in one of four weights. The 1 oz coin was the first issued and available in 1986. In 1987, the US Mint added the 1/2 oz coin to the series. The 1988 release year included the debut of two more weights; the 1/4 oz and these 1/10 oz Proof Gold Eagles.
All of the 1993 1/10 oz Proof Gold American Eagle coins in this product listing are available to purchase with a perfect certification from the NGC. Coins with a PF70 grade feature full, original mint luster with no detracting flaws. The UCAM label means these coins have strong, frosted matte visual elements on the designs and deeply-mirrored, clear background fields on the coin.
On the obverse of the 1993 1/10 oz Proof Gold American Eagle Coins is the image of Liberty. This particular depiction of Liberty helped launch a variety of new US coin designs. President Theodore Roosevelt commissioned Augustus Saint-Gaudens to create a new design for the $20 Gold Double Eagle and this was his creation. Liberty is featured walking toward the viewer on the coin’s surface with a free-flowing gown and hair.
The reverse of the 1993 Proof Gold Eagle includes a family of bald eagles. There is a group of hatchlings seated inside of the nest, where a female watches over them. Overhead, a male eagle flies with an olive branch in its talons. This design was created in 1986 by Miley Busiek exclusively for the Gold Eagle coinage.
