The production of 2.5 Gram Gold Valcambi Bars offered in this product listing is a complex process that represents the height of modern refining techniques. Each of these bars starts out as a piece of a much larger cast gold bar.
Once completed, the cast gold bar is fed into a stamping press that stamps out numerous bars for a predetermined weight, size, shape, and finish. These 2.5 Gram Gold Valcambi Bars are minted ingots that result from that stamping process.
Each of the Gold Valcambi Bars in this Silver.com listing is in brand-new condition from the refinery. It is packaged inside of blister-proof plastic packaging so its quality is guaranteed upon arrival. Additionally, the trademarked orange Assay card of Valcambi Suisse is included within.
On the reverse of each bar you’ll find only the Valcambi Suisse name engraved, which is situated along the left-hand side of the bar ranging from the lower-left corner to the upper-left corner of the bar’s face.
The obverse of each bar includes the Valcambi logo at the top, along with the weight, metal content, and purity in descending order below it. Also included are the assayer’s mark for the bar and its individual serial number. Valcambi Suisse uses a 2-letter, 6-number coding system for its minted ingots. This serial number is repeated on the assay card to validate your purchase.
Valcambi Suisse was founded as a private mint in 1961 in Balerna, Switzerland. Originally known as Valori & Cambi, its merger with Credit Suisse in 1968 created the combined name of Valcambi, and the addition of Suisse to the refinery’s name. Though Credit Suisse sold its controlling stake, the brand-name remains as a recognizable force in precious metals.
