On the reverse of each 2016 Four Leaf Clover Privy Silver Canadian Maple Leaf is the sugar maple leaf design, with a four-leaf clover situated to its lower left. Engravings include “Canada” above, the purity on either side of the design, and the weight and metal content along the bottom.
The obverse side of the coin features Queen Elizabeth II’s right-profile portrait in the center, along with engravings marking the Queen’s name, the year of issue, and the coin’s face value.
Canada’s Royal Canadian Mint was founded in 1908 to process precious metals discovered in the Yukon Territories for the British Crown. Originally operating with just one facility in the federal capital of Ottawa, the Royal Canadian Mint expanded its capacity with the addition of a Winnipeg facility in 1980.
