The dragon is one of the most well-known mythical beasts in the world, and it was a popular creature selection in heraldic art throughout Europe in the medieval age. The European vision of a dragon was a creature that was frightening, but strong, wise, and powerful at the same time. Chronicles from Wales talk of dragons as early as the 6th century.

In the Queen’s Beast selection of coins, the Red Dragon of Wales appears third in the bullion release. The coins debuted in 2016 with the Lion of England. All subsequent designs have followed in the same steps, issuing a 2 oz silver bullion coin, these ¼ oz gold bullion coins, a 1 oz gold bullion coin, a 10 oz silver bullion coin, and now a 1 oz platinum coin as well.

On the obverse of all 2017 ¼ oz Gold British Queen’s Beast Dragon Coins you’ll find Queen Elizabeth II’s right-profile portrait. Her Majesty’s effigy is a staple of British coinage, appearing on circulation and commemorative currency since 1953. This is the fifth-generation portrait and it was crafted in 2015 by Jody Clark.

The reverse of the British Queen’s Beast Dragon Coins includes the Red Dragon of Wales. Originally known as the red dragon of Cadwallader in those 6th century tales, the dragon was that of the king of Gwynedd.

All 2017 ¼ oz Gold British Queen’s Beast Dragon Coins listed here are in near-perfect condition. The NGC certifies each one as Mint State 69, indicating the presence of full, original mint luster along with a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. Those flaws are limited in nature to minuscule contact marks or hairlines.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
