Released second in the bullion series of Queen’s Beast Coins from the Royal Mint, the Griffin of Edward III now becomes the second design to feature in the latter addition coins to the collection. First introduced in 2017, the 10 oz silver and 1 oz platinum coins in the collection offer greater variety in an already impressive series of coins. Right now, 2018 1 oz Platinum British Queen’s Beast Griffin Coins are available to purchase online at Silver.com.

  • Consists of One Troy ounce of .9995 fine platinum in BU condition.
  • Bears a face value of £100 (GBP) backed by the government of Britain.
  • Obverse includes an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.
  • Reverse depicts the Griffin of Edward III guarding his place of birth.
  • Designs from Jody Clark of the Royal Mint.

All of the 2018 1 oz Platinum British Queen’s Beast Griffin Coins in this listing are available in BU condition. Coins in BU condition exhibit no signs of wear and tear, but may feature minor flaws. These flaws include potential breaks in the luster, spotted surfaces, and contact marks from the coining process.

The Queen’s Beast Series of silver, gold, and now platinum coins, includes 10 designs in total. Each new beast to feature in the collection represents a 6-foot tall statue of a heraldic beast from the British royal family’s ancestral lineage. The Griffin was used by King Edward III on his personal seal.

On the obverse of all Platinum British Queen’s Beast Coins is the image of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty’s effigy has graced the obverse of all British coinage since 1952 when she ascended to the throne, with this design representing the fifth-generation depiction created in July 2015 by Jody Clark.

The reverse side of the 2018 1 oz Platinum British Queen’s Beast Coin includes a design of the Griffin. This mythical creature combines the body of a lion, with rear legs and a tail from the king of the jungle. The head, wings, and front claws are those of an eagle, which is known as the king of the birds.

Founded in the 8th century as the London Mint, the Royal Mint has been the lone sovereign mint of the kingdom and crown since the 12th century. Formerly housed in the Tower of London, its main facility is now located in Wales.

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
