Each of these 2019 1/2 oz Silver Australian Pig Coins is available to you in its original Brilliant Uncirculated condition from the Perth Mint. The coins are housed individually in protective capsules or available in bulk purchases with sealed rolls of 20 coins. The 1/2 oz Silver Australian Pig is the smallest coin in the silver bullion issue for 2019.
The other 2019 Silver Australian Pig Coins available to investors include weights of 1 oz, 2 oz, 5 oz, 10 oz, 1 Kilogram, and 10 Kilogram weights. The 1 oz and 10 Kilogram coins are the only to have set mintage caps. The 2019 1/2 oz Silver Australian Pig has an unlimited mintage, which indicates the coins will be struck to meet demand through the end of 2019.
On the obverse of all Silver Australian Pig coins is the fourth-generation portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. This right-profile effigy of Her Majesty was created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley and has featured on Commonwealth coinage since that time. While other major bullion coins transition to the latest fifth-generation design at the Perth Mint in 2019, the Lunar Series II 2019 coins maintain continuity with this fourth-generation design.
The reverse side of 2019 1/2 oz Silver Australian Pig Coins features the latest design of lunar-themed coins from the Perth Mint. Created by Ing Ing Jong, this design features an adult pig in the background and a group of small piglets in the foreground.
Founded in 1899, the Perth Mint was originally part of the Royal Mint of England’s system in Australia. Today, Perth Mint is a state-owned entity of Western Australia and operates independently of the Royal Australian Mint.
