The Queen’s Beast Series from the Royal Mint includes a total of 10 designs in all. Each of the heraldic beasts captured in this series was created by Royal Mint designer Jody Clark. The images are based on heraldic beasts that were presented as statues during the 1953 coronation ceremony of Queen Elizabeth II. Each one has its own, unique history that led to its inclusion in the British Royal Arms.
All 2019 1 Kilo Proof Silver British Queen’s Beast Yale of Beaufort Coins in this product listing come to you inside of individual capsules that are housed within a Royal Mint of England display box. The box includes a numbered Certificate of Authenticity from the Royal Mint as well.
On the reverse of 2019 1 Kilo Proof Silver British Queen’s Beast Yale of Beaufort Coins is the image of the seal of Lady Margaret. The design was carried by the Duke of Somerset and passed to his daughter, Lady Margaret when he died. Lady Margaret’s only child, Henry, carried the arms himself to the throne of England as King Henry VII, founder of the House of Tudor dynasty.
The image of the Yale featured here includes a mythical beast standing in regal posture over a shield with several sections on it. The Yale is typically rendered in designs as a goat or antelope and has the tusks of a boar and horns. The horns are often depicted differently depending on the artist. In some cases, the horns have extensive twists and can point in completely opposite directions.
For the obverse of 2019 Proof Silver British Queen’s Beast Coins, the Royal Mint uses Jody Clark’s fifth-generation depiction of Queen Elizabeth II. This right-profile portrait of Her Majesty depicts her at age 89 and was created in 2015.
