The mouse is the largest figure in the design and stands on its hind legs as its front paws reach up one of the wheat stalks. The “P” mint mark of the Perth Mint is inscribed on this side, along with the Chinese symbol for mouse and the phrase “Mouse 2020.”

The obverse of 2020 1/10 oz Gold Lunar Mouse Coins features a new effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. This sixth-generation portrait of the Queen began to feature on Australian coinage from the Perth Mint in 2019 and now makes its appearance of Lunar Series III coins. This right-profile design showcases the Queen wearing the Royal Diadem crown on her head, along with earrings and the Victorian coronation necklace.
