Homer Simpson is the lovable, affable patriarch of the Simpson family. Together with his wife Marge, Homer has three children: Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. The family also has a dog and a cat, each of which goes through several iterations over the seasons to keep up the appearances of time passing, though all of the characters in the series remain the same age. For example, the family cat is named Snowball, but there are several iterations as Snowball I, Snowball II, and so on. This pointed out, in particular, in the classic Halloween episodes each year with sweeping pet cemetery shots of the various Snowballs over the years that have passed on.
Queen Elizabeth II features on the obverse side of 2020 Gold Tuvalu The Simpsons Homer Coins. This effigy of the Queen is the fourth-generation design from the Royal Mint of England and was created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley. It is one of the most popular effigies of the Queen and remains the design of choices for Commonwealth nations such as Tuvalu, Niue, the Cook Islands, and the Solomon Islands.
Homer Simpson is featured in the reverse design of 2020 1 oz Gold Homer Coins. He is shown here with a frustrated expression as his trademark phrase “D’Oh!” rings out over his head. The design field includes a donut in place of the letter “O” and sprinkles falling in the background element.
