Silver Austrian Philharmonics represent the first metallic expansion of the Austrian Philharmonic bullion coins after the 1989 introduction of the gold coins. After the 2008 introduction of the silver bullion version of the coin, the Austrian Philharmonic would gain a third metallic version in 2016 with the introduction of a platinum bullion version of the coin.
The Silver Philharmonic gained popularity among investors very quickly after its introduction.
