The Silver Republic of Ghana African Leopards were introduced in 2017. The coins in this series have proven immensely popular through the first three releases in the collection. The debut coin sold out entirely, with the 2018 release selling out within one day of availability. The 2019 coin is no longer available at Silver.com either, and with a much smaller mintage in 2020, another sell-out is likely. The previous mintage was 25,000 coins in 2019, with the 2020 coin capped at just 10,000 in total.

All of the 2020 1 oz Silver Republic of Ghana African Leopards in this series come with proof-like visuals that include frosted designs and mirror-like background fields. The coins are packaged individually in protective plastic capsules or in sealed skinboards of five coins. The skinboard can be separated into five individual coins without unsealing any of the individual silver coins. Each one of the coins is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.

On the obverse face of the 2020 Silver Republic of Ghana African Leopards is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Designed in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley, this effigy of the Queen was first used by the Royal Mint of England through 2015 and still features on a wide range of Commonwealth coin collections. The design field includes a leopard-print background with the rosette shapes in the pattern.

The reverse side of 2020 1 oz Silver Republic of Ghana African Leopards depicts a new image of the leopard. The leopard shown here is lying down with a hunk of flesh from its latest kill at its paws. Leopards are one of five living large cats in the wild, and one of three that inhabit the African continent alongside lions and cheetahs.
