The Hunters of the Deep Series features low-mintage coins that take the shape of each distinct animal in the series. The Hunters of the Deep debuted with the Great White Shark, continues with this Great Hammerhead Shark release, and will conclude with the Tiger Shark. The collection is one of two from MTB produced by the excellent refiners at PAMP Suisse. The other collection also offers shaped coins and is known as the Hunters of the Sky Series.

On the reverse of each 2020 1 oz Silver Solomon Islands Great Hammerhead Shark Shaped Coins is a depiction of this apex predator. The Great Hammerhead is the largest member of its species and tends to inhabit tropical waters and warm, temperate waters. Within this range, you are most likely to run into Great Hammerheads in coastal areas and on the continental shelf.

The obverse of 2020 Silver Solomon Islands Great Hammerhead Shark includes a depiction of Queen Elizabeth II in the middle of the shark’s body. This is the 1998 design created by Ian Rank-Broadley for the Royal Mint of England.
