The Australian Mother and Baby Kookaburra coin is the third in the Next Generation Series. Similar to coins from the Middle Ages, these thick coins are 1-ounce diameter blanks with a total of 2 Troy ounces of silver content. This makes for a heavy, dense, and small coin compared to other 2 oz products.

The obverse field of 2020 Silver Australian Mother and Baby Kookaburra Coins features the image of Queen Elizabeth II. This right-profile portrait represents the sixth-generation effigy of the Queen and it was created in 2015 by Jody Clark for the Royal Mint of England. It came to the Perth Mint and Australian coins in 2018. In the portrait, the Queen wears the George IV State Diadem Crown.

On the reverse side of 2020 2 oz Silver Australian Mother and Baby Kookaburra Coins, you will find the image of two kookaburras. This bird is synonymous with the Outback as its cackle has been used in countless stock audio files as background noise from the Outback. In this design, the young baby nestles in close to its mother for comfort.

Founded in 1899, the Perth Mint is the oldest operating mint in Australia and the only other operating mint aside from the Royal Australian Mint, the national sovereign mint.
