The Royal Canadian Mint introduced its Silver Maple Leafs in 1988, nearly one decade after the series launched in 1979 with the gold bullion version of the coin. The silver coins for sale were the first in the world to regularly feature .9999 fine silver and rank among the best-selling silver coins in the world behind only the Silver American Eagle. Today, 2020 1 oz Silver Canadian Maple Leaf Monster Boxes are available to you online at Silver.com.

Coin Highlights:

  • Available to ship inside of the Royal Canadian Mint Monster Box with 500 coins!
  • 32nd year of release for the 1 oz Silver Canadian Maple Leafs!
  • Consists of a total of 500 Troy ounces of .9999 fine silver in BU condition.
  • The individual face value of $5 (CAD) is fully backed by the Canadian government.

Silver Canadian Maple Leafs became the first bullion coins in the world to use .9999 fine silver content when introduced in 1988. The Royal Canadian Mint produces the Silver Maple Leafs in 1 oz silver only.

All of the 2020 1 oz Silver Canadian Maple Leaf Monster Boxes available to purchase here today include 500 individual 1 oz coins from the Silver Canadian Maple Leaf release in 2020. On the obverse of 2020 1 oz Silver Canadian Maple Leafs is the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. This is the fourth-generation depiction of the Queen during her long reign and was created in 2003 by Susanna Blunt. Ms. Blunt is just the second Canadian artist to ever design a monarch portrait and it is the first since the reign of King George VI to depict the ruler without a crown.

The reverse of 2020 Silver Canadian Maples Leafs features the iconic sugar maple leaf design. Developed in 1979 by Walter Ott for the Royal Canadian Mint, it debuted on the Gold Maple Leaf first and is now used on the Silver Maple Leaf, Platinum Maple Leaf, and Palladium Maple Leaf coins.

Silver Canadian Maple Leafs are produced by the Royal Canadian Mint. The mint has facilities at Ottawa and Winnipeg. The Ottawa Mint is the original facility and the one responsible for the production of all bullion and numismatic coins such as the Silver Maple Leafs.
